Dear Mrs. Parks Lesson Plan Treasures Gr. 4

Rosa Parks found herself at the forefront of the Civil Rights movement in 1955.  She was tired, not only physically from her job as a maid, but just tired of being treated as a second class citizen. So, she sat down on the bus in Montgomery, Alabama and didn't get up. Well that bus was segregated and she should have gotten up to give her seat to a White man, but she didn't .  What happened next is that she was arrested.  This started the whole ball rolling, so now you have to read the selection to find out more.
