What happened on Hawaii. 

What did the residents feel first? How was this tracked? 

Then what happened?  Who saw the volcano from the helicopter? 

What plans did the Civil Defence do? 

What did the residents of Liliani Estates do? 

Now read the background about volcanos on pages 52-59

Answer the questions in the Comprehension Strategy sections.

If so, what was it?  What did you do?  Where was it?  Did anyone get hurt?

If not, then tell what happened to a character in a book or a story that was in a natural disaster.

Read pages 16 and 17: 

What problem did the crow have? 

Did the crow intentially solve the problem? 

What did the crow finally  get? 

Read pages 18 and 19: 

Answer the questions. 

Read pages 20-21: Learn the new vocabulary 

Then read pages 25-31, do the exercises at the end of the story. 

Homework: 

Write your own short story about a problem a character has and how the problem gets solved in a creative way.
