Aviation English - Lesson Plan the Aviation Alphabet!

Welcome to Aviation English!  Before we get into serious training, we need to learn the Aviation alphabet.  This was finalized in 1955, and has remained standard for all aviation needs since then.
Pilots use this alphabet when needing to make sure that they are understood correctly. If you want to be a pilot, when you are spelling out names practice using this alphabet.

For example: if you want to spell the name Anna, Say: A as in Alpha, N as in November, N as in November and A as in Alpha.

Now you can practice:

Spell out these names:

Harry

John

Smith

Don

Kathy
