We are in the middle of studying the Moghol Empire of India.  Because of  Aurangzeb's three decisions, the empire fell and the British took over. 
Read from page 97-99 and then discuss these questions with your History Teacher! 

Questions: 
What was the religion of most of the population of India? Which parts of Islamic Law did he implement that made the Hindus angry? 
What part of India wasn't part of his empire? 
Why did he want to conquer it?  
Did he succeed?  Why or why not?
What did the guerrilla warriors do? 
How long did  Aurangzeb spend in the South? 
Which European country did he allow to come into India and build their own cities? 
What did that country do when they were in India? 
 Which city did they build that became a big port? 
How old was Aurangzeb when he died? 
How did he feel about India before he died?

Homework: 
You are a Hindu living in the time of Aurangzeb. He has just announced his new laws about the separation of Muslims and Hindus.  Write a letter to your cousin in the south of India and plan what you are going to do about this situation.
