Julius Ceasar Crosses the Rubicon, Lesson Plan

 This event is a turning point in Roman history. When Ceasar crossed the Rubicon, he could have been starting a civil war. . .

Who were Ceasars allies? 
Who were his enemies? 
What had he spent the last four years doing before he came back to Rome?
Why was the Rubicon River so important? 
What did Ceasar do when he came to the river? 
What happened as a result of him crossing the river? 


Homework: 
You are a historian embedded in the 13th Roman Legion.  Write an account of the crossing of the Rubicon River.
