Click Clack Moo, Cows that type - Lesson Plan

Have you every heard real typewriter?

Have you every typed on one?

Well that is how I first typed, but not very well at first because if you typed too fast, then all the metal keys ended up in the middle, all in a clump.

I just tried to find a picture to show you, but as luck would have it, I can't.  No one wanted to take a picture of something that was so  so so , ok I will use the word:  annoying.

To get an idea of the sound of an old fashioned typewriter, I have scoured YouTube tonight and I found this to be the best video for sound and the picture of how a typwriter sounds.

There is a very funny one of Jerry Lewis, well a lot of funny ones, but he is pantomiming the typewriter and I wanted to show you the real thing!  So if you want to really laugh  you can see this one:

Now that we are warmed up, let's go to our story:Click Clack Moo:  Cows that type

Get it on Amazon, Click Clack Moo

Questions:

Why do the Cows type?

What are they asking for?

Is this reasonable?

How does the farmer feel?

What is a strike?

What won't the cows give to the farmer?

What does the farmer write back?

Is this a good compromise?

Who else learns how to type?

What do the second group want?

Summarize the story in your own words

Homework:

Prepare a speech for your teacher

In your speech you are one of the cows and you tell the farmer what you need  in order to give more milk.
