Floating in Space Video Lesson plan

I have been interested in Space for a long time.  I remember July 16th, 1969 when the Apollo 11 crew took off and then July 20th when they landed on the Moon.  I was a small child at the time, and this event made a big impact on me.  I have always followed the space developments.

If you are studying National Geographic Reading Explorer 3, you can use these videos to supplement the book on pages 154-157.

We will study today two different videos of two different astronauts and what they have to say about being in space.

What does the astronaut say about Earth?
How many people has he been with while in orbit?
How long was the shuttle flight?
How did he capture the memories?
What did he love about the National Parks?
What theme did he try to capture? What Milestone was he celebrating?
How long have people wanted to go to Mars?
Why is this important?

Scott Kelly goes to the International Space Station for a year

Why does he have to be so long in space?
How long did he spend in Space?
What parts of the body is affected while the astronaut is in space?
"?What does "Push the Envelope mean
?Who is staying behind to be studied as we

Ed White in Space.
What did he feel when he was in space?
What were the difficulties that could have happened?
What floated out of the capsule?
How far above the Earth was Ed White?
How fast was he traveling?
