The United Nations - Lesson Plan

The United Nations was the replacement for the League of Nations.

This website has a much better presentation than our textbook so we will study from there instead: 




Questions: 

Why was the United Nations successful and the League of Nations not? 
What is the function of the UN? 
When did it become functional? 
Which countries signed first? 
Which entities are not full members? 

Homework: 
You are a reporter in San Francisco in June 1945. Write your news report about the signing of the United Nations Charter. Tell which countries signed first, and the function of the United Nations.
